International Virtual Course : “Plant Biotechnology on the Production of Secondary Metabolites”

Dear students all over the globe,

Up until now, plants have been important sources for medicine through the isolation of natural products. Biotechnology application is instrumental in the progress of natural products. Not only facilitates the improvement on the production of certain secondary metabolites, plant biotechnology also provides the way to understand the secondary metabolic pathway and regulation. To propagate the comprehension of Plant Biotechnology, School of Parmacy ITB held a International Virtual Course themed *“Plant Biotechnology on the Production of Secondary Metabolites”*.

The course would be delivered by lectures from Bandung Institute of Technology and internationally recognized researchers from different backgrounds together with expert from a natural product industry. The course would provide overview on the prospect of tissue culture in the production of pharmaceutical relevant secondary metabolites, theoretical and application of plant tissue culture, the biotechnology approaches to enhance secondary metabolites production, metabolomic application on natural products and biosynthetic elucidation and industrial application of plant tissue culture. *All international students are invited to join this IVC program without registration fee* (ITB students have to submit commitment fee and will be returned after the course completion).
