Get closer with Prof. Elin Yulinah, Bright and Full Achievement Researcher and Lecturer
Bright and full of achievements, Prof. Dr. apt. Elin Yulinah or Bu Elin as everyone usually calls her, marked her academic excellence since young. Prof. Elin received his PhD with title Antibiotic and AntiFungi Isolation from Streptomyces Indonesiensis ATCC 35839, new species from Indonesia in 1987 at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). This new bacteria deposited in American Type Culture Collection along with new bacteria discovered in other her work named Streptomyces griseospiralis ATCC 35949.
She has got a professor in Pharmacology and Toxicology since 2001 and currently, Prof. Elin is one of School of Pharmacy lecturers teaching for both undergraduate, Master and Doctoral students. She has been a lecturer in School of Pharmacy ITB since 1975 teaching courses such as Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmacotherapy, Drug Interaction, etc. Meanwhile her research interest are search for antiinfection and anti-degenerative medicine.
Prof. Elin has published > 200 publication, 13 patent and 16 books. One of her patent is Combination of Red Ginger and Noni Fruit Extract as Anti Tuberculosis delivered her as the first female scientist to receive Habibie Award in Medical Science and Biotechnology in 2007 by the Science and Technology Human Resources Foundation (IPTEK HR Foundation). She also got Kalbe Science award from Kalbe Farma Industry in 2010, Intellectual Property Rights Award obtained from Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Republic of Indonesia in 2013, inventor from rector of ITB, Ganeca Innovation Championship Award from Alumni of ITB in 2015 and the newest award namely National Agency of Food and Drug Control awards of Indonesia February 2016.
She has an activity in National Committee of Drug Evaluation, National Agency of Food and Drug Control of Republic of Indonesia. She has been working on evaluation of safety and efficacy of herbal medicines and made collaboration with herbal industry.
