COMMUNITY SERVICE AND INNOVATION RESEARCH (PENELITIAN PENGABDIAN MASYARAKAT DAN INOVASI, PPMI): “PREVENT STUNTING, RECOGNIZE THE CAUSES TOWARD THE GLORIOUS INDONESIAN CHILDREN”

Continuing community service activities in partner villages, Tanjungsari Village, Gunungtanjung District, Tasikmalaya Region, School of Pharmacy ITB held an event to educate cadres of Integrated Healthcare Center (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu, Posyandu) with the theme “Prevent Stunting, Recognize the Causes towards the Glorious Indonesian Children”. This event was conducted online via zoom platform with the speaker dr. Faisal, SpA, M.Kes. on Saturday, August 7, 2021,

Coinciding with World Breastfeeding Day, stunting education for cadres of Posyandu is expected to be able to guide the community to recognize and prevent stunting. Stunting in children is not only measured from physical conditions like short body height, but also involves considering the growth of children. Therefore, dr. Faisal emphasized on the cadres of Posyandu to recognize stunting properly and know the way to prevent it by ensuring nutrition in the first 1000 days of life.

Hopefully, the community service conducted by School of Pharmacy ITB can reduce the incidence of stunting in Tanjungsari Village.
